Volunteer

The Heart of Volunteers

Hospice relies on volunteers. In fact, volunteers are the backbone of the hospice team. Volunteers help set the tone for the compassionate care our patients and families receive. The support volunteers provide greatly enhances the quality of patient’s lives. To our patients and their families, our volunteers make a significant difference in their end-of-life journey.

Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great time commitment. It can be as simple as reading to or spending time with a patient a few hours a week or helping our volunteer services team with administrative tasks.

Open your heart and become a Hospice of Charles County Volunteer. You can change someone’s life – and yours.

Hospice of Chesapeake and its affiliates, Calvert
Hospice and Hospice of Charles County, will consolidate all brands under the Hospice of the
Chesapeake starting April 1, 2023.

Calvert Hospice joins Hospice of the Chesapeake

We are honored to announce that effective yesterday, June 14, 2022, Calvert Hospice has become part of the Hospice of the Chesapeake organization through a fully executed acquisition agreement.   We believe the beauty and strength of this merger is that it brings together two local nonprofit organizations to further strengthen the access to healthcare available to the citizens of Calvert County.

We are currently caring for 590+ hospice patients and their families every day in Anne Arundel, Charles and Prince George’s Counties and with the addition of Calvert County will reach more than 630+ hospice patients each day throughout our region.

To receive more information or inquiry about care services, please reach us at 410-987-2003 or visit www.hospicechesapeake.org.
