About Our Care

Caring for Life Throughout the Journey

Hospice care is considered to be the model for quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury. It involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management and emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes. Hospice care is most often provided in the last six months of life when a cure is no longer an option and requires a referral from a physician. Holistic in approach with a focus on quality of life, support is also provided to the patient’s loved ones during the course of the hospice care and for 13 months following the death of a loved one.

Calvert Hospice joins Hospice of the Chesapeake

We are honored to announce that effective yesterday, June 14, 2022, Calvert Hospice has become part of the Hospice of the Chesapeake organization through a fully executed acquisition agreement.   We believe the beauty and strength of this merger is that it brings together two local nonprofit organizations to further strengthen the access to healthcare available to the citizens of Calvert County.

We are currently caring for 590+ hospice patients and their families every day in Anne Arundel, Charles and Prince George’s Counties and with the addition of Calvert County will reach more than 630+ hospice patients each day throughout our region.
