A Time to Heal is an eight week grief support group facilitated by Hospice of Charles County staff and volunteers. The goals of the program are to help participants feel less helpless and better able to cope with the challenges of life after the death of a loved one. After attending A Time To Heal, participants will have gained the necessary skills that allow them to continue to find meaning in life.
In our grief denying society, bereaved people often withdraw from friends and family. Feeling the pressure to “get on with their lives” they simply do not know how to begin.
A Time to Heal provides a safe environment in which people can meet other people experiencing grief. Together, they are able to grieve their loss and begin to take steps
A Time to Heal meets for eight consecutive weeks, and is offered four times each year.

Grief Support Groups
Grief support groups provide a comfortable atmosphere to talk about grief and learn to heal through the grief process. Hospice support groups are open to the community.
We offer several grief support activities for children. Our Camp Sunshine offers fun and therapeutic activities to help children creatively express their emotions in a comfortable setting where they may interact with other grieving children. Supervision is provided by Trained Camp Counselors.
Adolescent (Coming Soon)
To better meet the needs of the community, we are adding Adolescent Support Groups to our offerings. We will offer several grief support activities for
adolescents. Support groups will be held several times a year facilitated by the Bereavement Coordinator for adolescents between the ages of 13-17. These groups will be held in the Hospice office or will be facilitated
by Hospice team members in the schools or other community settings. Please contact the Hospice office for more information.
We offer eight-week day and evening support groups to provide adults with a caring community to inspire and encourage each other.
